Mr. Davis C. Holmes, age 88, a resident of Morton, MS passed away on Wednesday August 12, 2015 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 15, 2015 from 4:30 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Sunday August 16, 2015 from 3:00 PM until 4:15 PM at Wolf Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday August 16, 2015 at 4:30 PM at Wolf Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Holly Bush Methodist Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Smith and Rev. Gary Glazier. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Holmes was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS. He was a member of the Morton United Methodist Church in Morton, MS. Mr. Holmes was the former owner of Central Furniture and Appliance in Morton for 35 years. He had served as Town Marshall for the City of Morton for one term and he was a Master Mason and member of the Morton Masonic Lodge. He always had a helping hand for everyone in need. Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his wife, Elouise Holmes in 2014; two sisters; three brothers. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Holmes Bond of Morton, MS; Lawanda Holmes Stevenson and husband Charles of Morton, MS; one brother, Dearl Holmes of Morton, MS; four grandchildren, Connie Bond, Laurie Weathersby and husband Randy, Shae Cannada and husband Micah, Jake Stevenson and wife Lindsey; four great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers are Stanley Holmes, Daniel Holmes, Jiles Holmes, Randy Weathersby, Micah Cannada, Jake Stevenson. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Waggoner, Harry Holmes, Jerry Holmes, Henry C.
