Molly Laseter Obituary

Molly Tadlock Laseter, 87 years of age, a lifetime resident of Morton, Mississippi, passed away on August 12, 2015, of natural causes. Molly was born in Scott County, Mississippi, in 1927. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Mae James, her father, James Albert Tadlock, seven siblings, James Albert Tadlock, Jr., Mattie Tadlock Weems, Nova D. Tadlock ‘Bill’, Lillie Mae Idol, Dextal O’Neal Davis, Herbert W. Tadlock, Harwell Tadlock and her husband, William Fredrick Laseter to whom she was married for 51 years. She is survived by her daughter Lea Laseter Ferguson, her son‐in‐law Michael Vance Ferguson, grandaughters Molly Ree Ferguson and Margaret Rose Ferguson, and a host of nieces and nephews. Molly was an active member of Morton United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school and worked at the food bank. She worked for Standard Oil for 22 years as an executive secretary. She worked for First Magnolia Federal of Jackson as a bank manager until she retired. She was a member of Executive Women’s International where she served as president for one term. She was a member of Maids and Matrons Book Club, served as secretary for Chevron Retirees Club, also serving on the Beautification Committee of Morton, helped organize several class reunions for Morton High School and delivered Meals on Wheels. Molly enjoyed gardening, reading, painting, history and genealogy. Her grandchildren were her passion. Molly attended Clifton School and graduated as salutatorian from Morton High School. She graduated from Mississippi College with a BS in business at the age of sixty five. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MM on Saturday, August 15, 2015, from 5:30 P.M.‐7:00 P.M. Visitation will begin on Sunday at 12:30 P.M. The service will begin in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. The interment will be held at Morton Memorial Gardens in Morton, Mississippi. A special thanks to Seasons Hospice and all the caregivers at Elmcroft Assisted Living in Roswell Georgia for their wonderful care and loving treatment of Molly.
