Genevieve Porter Obituary

Genevieve F. Eshleman Porter, 92, of Susquehanna Township, and formerly of Chambers Hill, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015, in the Community General Hospital, Lower Paxton Township. Born in Hershey on October 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida Deimler Eshleman. Genevieve retired from the former Hesteco Dress & Sportswear Manufacturing Company where she worked as a seamstress. She was a member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union. Genevieve enjoyed flower gardening. Most important to Genevieve was her deep love for her family and the enjoyment she received from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan C. Porter, on March 25, 2001; by a son, Robert Ivan Porter, Sr., on March 20, 1993; and by a grandson, Robert I. Porter, Jr. Genevieve is survived by two daughters, Jean E. Cochran wife of Mick of Harrisburg, and Carolyn M. Boyer wife of Steven E. of Duncannon; four grandchildren, Marc B. Cochran husband of Louise, Michael Boyer husband of Melanie, Heather Bange wife of Jay, and Susan Maynard; and twelve great grandchildren. Private services will be held by the family. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in her memory to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
