Glen Franklin Lane, 70, of Lumberport, passed away at 6:20am, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Braxton County, October 25, 1944 a son of the late Oatha Denver and Ocie Hardway Lane. On June 17, 1967, he married Katheryn Mourine Tucker Lane who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Patrick Lane and his wife Sara, Charleston, Shawn Lane and his wife Casey, Bridgeport, six grandchildren, Morgan Marie Kennedy, Patrick Glen Lane, II, Alexander Franklin Lane, Mary Bridget Lane, Sylas Franklin Lane, Harlow Nicole Lane, four brothers, Dennis Lane and his wife Annette, Elkins, Johnny Lane and his wife Sue, Philippi, Bobby Lane and his wife Jean, Parkersburg, Jimmie Lane and his wife Sandra, Lumberport, three sisters, Freda Hawkins and her husband Ray, Morgantown, Kathryn Miller, New Cumberland, WV, Linda Robinson, Lumberport. A special nephew, Dennis Lane and his wife Danielle, Pittsburgh, and several other nieces and nephews. Glen worked as a boiler operator for Anchor Hocking Glass and for the United hospital Center from which he retired with 15 years service. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Shinnston, and a member of St. John’s Lodge #24 A.F. & A.M., Shinnston. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who lived for his children and grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of 7 North at United Hospital Center and People’s Hospice for their kindness and care. Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 5-8pm, Sunday and 2-8pm, Monday. The Holy Rosary will be recited in the funeral home chapel at 7:30pm, Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am, Tuesday, August 11 with Rev. Tom Dagle as celebrant. Interment will be in the Lions Club Cemetery at Lumberport.
