Queensbury Daniel Murphy, 56, of Queensbury, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born on September 29, 1958 in Glens Falls, NY he was the son of the late John P. and Janice L. (Mahan) Murphy Sr. On April 12, 1980, Dan married Theresa Blondin at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson Falls. Dan was employed by Finch Paper. He was a sports fan and could often be found cheering on his favorites teams, the Yankees, Notre Dame, and the NY Giants. Dan enjoyed vacationing with Theresa and the often went on cruises together. He loved spending time with his children and traveled to Disney World with them when they were younger, as well as local trips to Lake George where they created many fond family memories. Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 35 years, Theresa Murphy, his children; Shaun Murphy and his partner Clifford Stout, and Kerri Leddick and her husband Michael, his brother and sisters, John Murphy and his wife Terry, Colleen Palmer and her husband Tim, Noreen Reynolds and her husband Keith, 3 nieces, 5 nephews, as well as several aunts and uncles, and many cousins. Friends may call from 5-8pm on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10am on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 at the funeral home, with Deacon Bill Bazinet officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Edward. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dan’s name can be made to the CR Wood Cancer Center, c/o Glens Falls Hospital Foundation, 126 South Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of tower 2 at the Glens Falls Hospital and Dr. Pillemer for all their care and compassion they gave to Daniel during the last two month.
