Leila June Stucker, 73, of Lancaster, Kansas died Sunday, July 26th, 2015 at Mosiac Life Care Center, St. Joseph, MO. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Friday, July 31st, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster, KS. with Sr. Mary Arie officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, KS. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30th, starting at 6:30 pm with a Nightingale Tribute by nurses Leila worked with, followed by visitation with family until 8:00 pm at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com. Leila June Wehking was born on Nov. 8, 1941 in Horton, KS the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Poos) Wehking. She graduated from ACCHS in 1959 and attended nurses training from Missouri Methodist Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1962 as a Registered Nurse. Leila worked as a nurse in several places during her nursing career including, Atchison Hospital, Dr. Yoder’s Office, Denton, KS., Horton Clinic, Medicalodge of Atchison, and at the NEK Health Dept. Mrs. Stucker was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Group Leader for many years. She was also involved as a 4-H Leader, member of the Sarah Circle, Scholarship Committee at church. Leila was a member of the Sunshine Club, Quirky Quilters, served on the Election Board and helped with many blood drives. She enjoyed quilting and traveling, having been on many wonderful trips. She was married to Donald Stucker on Sept.15, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster, KS. Mr. Stucker survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Jeff Stucker, Lancaster, KS, a daughter, Cathy (David) Crist, Lancaster, KS, two sisters, Betty Jean Dewerff, Vancouver, WA, and Norma (Dale) Hodges, Emporia, KS. Her parents preceded her in death.
