Carl W. Rumschlag, 92, of Decatur, died Monday, July 27, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital. Carl was born in Decatur, IN on February 7, 1923 to the late Albert H. and Margaret E. (Bernard) Rumschlag. On April 27, 1946 he married E. Jean Everett; she preceded him in death on June 10, 2011. Carl was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was the oldest living member of the Moose Lodge 1311. Carl retired in 1985 after 44 years with Central Soya where he was a former member of the Finance Board. He is survived by two sons, Lin J. (Nancy) Rumschlag of Decatur and Kevin P. (Rhonda) Rumschlag of Lake James, Angola; a daughter, Cheryl L. (Paul) Wolfe of Fairmount, IN; four grandchildren, April (Mike) Legare of Marion, Lucas (Julie) Rumschlag of Indianapolis, Nichole (Jeremy) Moehring of New Haven and Nathan Rhymer of Ft. Wayne; 11 great grandchildren, Brittany, Alexis, Lexi, Peyton, Levi, Liam, Cameron, Jordan, Dylan, Brittany and Alexis. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chadd Haisley and two brothers, Elmo and Richard. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, followed by a Noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father Jose Panamattathil, V.C. will be presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
