Ruth Price

Ruth Ann Price, 78, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana. She was born on December 31, 1936, in Adams County, IN to the late Herbert F. and Mabel V. (Lehrman) Wiegmann. On April 28, 1962, she married Jim Price. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur, where she served on various committees at the church. She also served as an usher and greeter for many years and volunteered at the Hope Chest. Ruth worked as a homemaker. She was a graduate of Decatur High School. She also volunteered her time at Adams Memorial Hospital and enjoyed reading. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Jim Price of Decatur; 3 daughters, Susan A. (Adam) Miller of Decatur, Kathleen Kay Price of Glencoe, IL, and Nancy C. Price of Fishers; a sister, Carolyn (Bill Ellison) Sappenfield of Ft. Wayne; 3 granddaughters, Krista Miller, Jacqui Banks, and Allie Banks. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Bryan J. Miller on January 3, 2006. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, with calling 1 hour prior from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Amy Covington and Pastor Harold Klinker and burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery. Memorials may be made to A.C.C.F. Bryan J. Miller Memorial Scholarship or to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
