Loretta Tapley

Millinocket – Loretta M. Tapley, 84, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Katahdin Health Care Facility surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 30, 1931 in Millinocket, the daughter of Evelyn (Arsenault) Thibodeau and the granddaughter of Emma Aresenault. She served as Chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary Unit 80 and was a member of the Little Flower Circle, Council # of the Daughters of Isabella. Loretta also worked at the Millinocket Meals for Me. Loretta was predeceased by her husband, Earl Tapley, sons Tom and Rob, a brother James Thibodeau, and sisters Electa Gallant and Cecile Young. She is survived by two sons, Earl Tapley of Georgia, John Tyson of Millinocket, and daughters, Suzette East of Brownville, Ruth Gould of Stacyville, and Anne Tapley of Millinocket; sisters Lorraine Hartley and Shirley Walsh, both of Millincoket; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Katahdin Health Care for all their help and support of Loretta during her time spent with them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M. Thursday, July 30 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with the Rev. Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Loretta may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
