Vincent “Vinny” Charles Winchenbaugh passed away July 20, 2015. He was born December 25, 1940 in Milton, MA to Vincent and Marie (McGonagle) Winchenbaugh. Vinny was raised in Milton, MA and graduated from Don Bosco Academy in Boston in 1958. After high school he was drafted into the United States Army and served as a mechanic for 2 years while stationed in Germany. When he returned from the Army, Vinny began his 25 year career as a mechanic for South Shore Buick in Quincy, MA. He retired to Friendship, ME in 2009. He was an avid stamp and coin collector and loved to go to antique shops. He also liked to go fishing and to travel, especially to Cape Cod, MA and Puerto Rico. Vinny was preceded in death by his parents and sister, June Burke. He is survived by: his daughter Tiffany Winchenbaugh of Sanford, ME; son Vincent Lee Winchenbaugh of Sanford, ME; sister Lois (Ray) Faria of Friendship, ME; grandson Thomas Quimby of Sanford, ME; granddaughter Leira Winchenbaugh of Sanford, ME; nieces Elizabeth Burke of Warren, ME, Yvonne Laine of Waldoboro, ME, and Jennifer Gaghan of Brunswick, ME; and nephew Jon Faria of Waldoboro, ME. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Church in Rockland followed by interment at Sweetland Cemetery in Waldoboro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vinny’s name to Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org . Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements.
