Millinocket – John G. Fiske, Sr., 72, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his home in Millinocket. He was born February 23, 1943 in Millinocket, the son of Theodore T. and Orissie E. (Powers) Fiske. John grew up in East Millinocket, and was a graduate of Schenck High School, class of 1961. He went to work for the Great Northern Paper Company and retired as a Master Machinist in 1984, with 25 years experience. In his youth, he enjoyed motorcycling, water skiing, and archery. He always enjoyed talking to people, and though he didn’t seek attention, he always seemed to be at the center of it! John will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and many friends. John is survived by four children, John G. Fiske, Jr. and his wife Ann of East Millinocket, Matthew Fiske and his wife Jen of Millinocket, Stephanie Sheehan and her husband George of Winterport, and Tom Fiske and his wife Jen of Lincoln; longtime significant other, Valerie Montefesco of Millinocket; sixteen grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline Dawn Fiske. Graveside services will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, July 28 at the East Millinocket Cemetery, with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
