Helen P. Martin, 90, of Sturgis, MI formerly of Decatur, IN died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her residence. Helen was born in Vincennes, IN on March 17, 1925 to the late James and Cleo (Mitchel) Dettrow. On July 29, 1967, Helen married James L. Martin; he preceded her in on November 7, 2014. Helen attended Decatur Lighthouse Assembly of God. She was a homemaker and also worked for GM in Defiance for 5 years. Helen is survived by her son, James “Eugene” (Connie) Smith of Sturgis, MI; a brother; five sisters; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joy Lee Linnibury and Joyce Ann Wolverton; and a sister. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur, IN. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 27th also at the funeral Home. Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery. Memorials are to Decatur Lighthouse Assembly of God Church.
