Lois Jean Stewart, 82, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Mosiac Life Care Hospital in St. Joseph, MO. Lois has been cremated and no services will be held. The family suggests memorial contributions in memory and honor of Lois to the American Cancer Society and they may be sent in care of the funeral home. Words of comfort and remembrance may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com. Lois Jean Good was born on April 28, 1933 in Gentry, Missouri, the daughter of Roy and Viola (Hyde) Good. Lois attended schools at Gentry and St. Joseph, Missouri. Lois had worked for many years in the laundry department at the former Sister’s Hospital in St. Joseph. Lois had also worked at various thrift and secondhand stores in the area. Lois and Virgil Stewart were united in marriage on March 15, 1958 in Wathena, KS. Survivors include Lois’s husband of 57 years, Virgil, of the home; four sons, Kenneth Stewart and Virgil Stewart, Jr., both of Atchison, William Weese and Randy Stewart, both of St. Joseph; a daughter, Vivian Hayes of St. Joseph; a sister Mary Leopard. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Buster and Jim Good; a sister, Roberta Hunt.
