Richard Trombley Obituary

Argyle Richard C. Trombley Sr., 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at home with his family by his side. Born in Glens Falls on June 27, 1926, he was the son of the late Octave and Lucien (Boyer) Trombley. He attended St. Alphonsus School in Glens Falls. Dick enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly for three years. He also served in the United States Marines, in which he was a part of the Normandy Invasion. Dick worked for Imperial Color for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, and especially loved family gatherings. On January 10, 1949, at St. Alphonsus Rectory in Glens Falls, Dick married the love of his life Helen J. Rayno. They settled in Argyle where they raised their five children and spent 64 wonderful years together before Helen’s passing in 2013. Besides his wife and parents, Dick is predeceased by his siblings, Romeo Trombley, Maurice Trombley, and Grace Shepard. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Richard Trombley and wife Jeanne of Argyle, Linda Wilbur and her companion John Robertson of Greenwich, Timothy Trombley and wife Lori of Queensbury, Heidi Geroux and her companion Jeff Constantineau of Fort Edward, and Lisa Catone and husband William of Fort Edward, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren,sister, Alma Chmielewski, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
