Izola Plasterer

Izola A. Plasterer, 86, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Adams Woodcrest. Izola was born in Van Wert County, OH on April 2, 1929 to the late Ulysses Grant and Mary Emma (Deardorff) Comer. On October 15, 1948, she married Jess E. Plasterer; he preceded her in death on February 15, 2001. Izola was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women’s Agape Circle, Izola also was a Preschool Teacher at the church for many years and a former member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy (Don) Blume of Decatur and Sindi (Bill) Wilhelm of Decatur; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Plasterer of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Dan and Tom Plasterer; a daughter-in-law, Linda Plasterer and 4 brothers. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home with calling 1 hour prior to service. Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18th also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Memorials are to St. Mark’s UMC or Family Life Care-Hospice.
