Susan Cunningham Obituary

Susan Alfreatta Cunningham, 80, of Nobleboro, passed away July 1, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 6, 1934 in Damariscotta to F. Judson and Eva Louise (Newton) Trask. Susan attended Nobleboro school and Lincoln Academy. In addition to working on the family dairy farm, she worked at the Waldoboro Button factory, the Alewife Fishery in Damariscotta Mills, Crow Rope in Thomaston, the Fish Factory in Rockland, the Sylvania Plant in Waldoboro, and the Medomak Canning Company in Waldoboro. Susan married the love of her life, Sonny, Maurice William Cunningham Jr, on February 28, 1952. She loved animals, especially cows and collected anything cow all her life. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Susan was preceded in death by: her parents; brother Frank Willis Trask; sister Sandra Ann Gregory; her husband Sonny; infant daughter Barbara Gail Cunningham; son Frank Willis Cunningham; and infant Granddaughter Carrie Ann Cunningham. She is survived by: her son Maurice William Cunningham III of Silver Spring, MD; daughter Eva Louise Williams of Nobleboro, son Paul Anthony Cunningham of Whitefield; sister Shirley Henny of Nobleboro; daughter-in-law Alba V. Tirado of Silver Spring, MD; daughter-in-law Paula L. (Camire) Cunningham of Bath; daughter-in-law Lillian M. (Reynolds) Cunningham of Whitefield;daughter-in-law Sheena L. Moulton of Nobleboro; brother-in-law Alexander Cunningham of Bristol; and numerous grand children, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She requested there be no formal services. There will be a grave side gathering of her family in October to place her ashes on Sonny’s grave.
