Pearle Merrill

Pearle Cogswell Merrill passed away on June 29, 2015 at the Sussman House in Rockport. She was born on November 26, 1929 to the late Walter Merle Cogswell and Mildred Morse. Pearle grew up in Gardiner, Maine and attended the local schools. She met and married her husband, Henry Merrill in 1949 after having met in school. Together they had six children and her family was what she loved most. Pearle lived a simple life, was there to raise her children and liked staying close to home. She enjoyed trips to visit the countryside and go on picnics with her family. Gardening was important to her as well as bird watching, cooking and baking - Pearle was famous for her spice cake. Pearle is predeceased by her husband Henry, her sons, Joel Henry Merrill and Jason Jay Merrill. As well as her sister Minnie Kaska, Eugene Cogswell. She is survived by her children Daniel Merrill and Janet Dwelley of Thomaston, Katherine Lynne Studley, Henry Merrill, II and his wife Shannon of Waldoboro, Matthew Merrill of Portland Sisters, Betty Fielder of Florida, Louise Toulouse of Florida And Joyce James of Jefferson, Grand children, Michelle Dudley, Robin Dudley and Martinique Merrill Pearle had 9 great grandchildren The family would like to thank Janet and Shannon for the wonderful care that they took of Pearle. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 2nd at 2pm at the West Washington Cemetery in Washington, ME. Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements.
