Mr. Harold Lee May, 64, of Woodlawn, Virginia, passed away Sunday (June 21, 2015) at his home. Born November 11, 1950 in Hurley, Virginia, he was a son of the Troy and Kathleen Lee May of Hillsville, Virginia. He was a retired coal miner having formerly been employed by Island Creek Coal Company, United Coal, and several additional coal mines. He was preceded in death by one son, Harold Danny May. Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Judy Vandyke May of the home; one daughter, Donna Sueann May and Steve Mullins of Woodlawn; one daughter-in-law, Renee May of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Cameron Davis of Woodlawn, Tyler May of Cleveland, Leeann May of Lebanon; great-grandson, Chase May of Cleveland, VA; two brothers, Darrell May and wife, Norma of Phyllis, Kentucky, and David May of Claypool Hill; four sisters, Wilma Blankenship and husband, Douglas of Claypool Hill, Sandra Reeves of Galax, Marie Vonda Pruitt and husband, Ricky of Barren Springs, and Debbie May-Guevara of Sylvatus, Virginia; mother-in-law, Inez Vandyke of Bristol, Tennessee. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 PM Friday at the Esau Rife Cemetery, Keen Mountain ,Virginia with Rev. Doug Blankenship officiating. Those wishing to go in procession to the graveside service are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Tyler May, Keith Stiltner, Jason May, Greg Stiltner, Teddy Justice, and Donald Matney. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Montgomery, Randall Dye, and Joe Horn.
