James Farmer

Mr. James “Jody” Walter Farmer, age 58, of Honaker, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday (June 22, 2015) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born May 10, 1957 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Bayard W. and Draper Marie Ratliff Farmer. He had spent most of his life in the Honaker area and was a graduate of Honaker High School. He attended the Honaker Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sally Kay Jackson. Survivors include one sister, Linda Gregory and husband, Gary, Sr. of Honaker; one nephew, Gary Gregory, Jr. of Honaker; two nieces, Jessica Whitt and husband, Adam of Swords Creek and Sheena Mabe and husband, Josh of Honaker; great-nephews, Gavin Whitt, Braden Mabe, and Cole Mabe; great-niece, Maggie Kay Whitt; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Pastor Paul Day and Rev. Steve Perkins officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession. Pallbearers will be Chris Suits, Brad Hart, Ryan Hart, Corey Hart, Jeremy Ratliff, and Jared Compton. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Mabe, Adam Whitt, Gary Helton, F.P.
