Thomas W. Barber, 88, of Edinburg Rd, passed away the evening of May 31, 2015 at his residence. Born on October 13, 1926 in Wampum, PA, he was the son of the late Terry and Edna Sherlock Barber. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of over 70 wonderful years, the former Ruth English, whom he married in 1945.

Thomas retired from the laboratory for Bessemer Cement. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from January 1945 to October 1946. An avid outdoorsman, Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in his cabin in the mountains.

In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by his son, Terry W. Barber of New Castle, son-in-law, Thomas Duncan of New Castle, grandchildren, Thomas E. Duncan and Heather L. Duncan-Flemming, and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Ann Barber-Duncan, brothers, James and Wayne Barber, sister, Katherine Fry, and mother-in-law, Velina Viggan.

Honoring Thomas’ wishes, there are no calling hours planned, and services are private.

Interment will take place in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
