Mary Ruth McMillen, 93, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at her residence. Mary was born on July 14, 1921 in St. Mary’s Township to the late John and Arabelle (Tumbleson) Bebout. On March 31, 1946 she married John W. “Bill” McMillen; he preceded her in death on July 12, 2000. Ruth formerly attended Cornerstone Community Church. She retired in 1998 as a machinist at CTS in Berne and prior to that worked at G.E in Ft. Wayne and US Rubber. Ruth enjoyed watching her granddaughters play softball; sitting by her pond with family; watching the birds eating from her bird feeder; gardening, canning, quilting and making flower arrangements. Mary loved having parties with her family and friends; cooking supper every Sunday for her family. She loved watching and talking to her dog Scruffy every morning; going grocery shopping with the granddaughters and out to eat at Richard’s. Her family will miss her so much! She is survived by her son, Robert L. “Bob” (Linda) McMillen of Decatur; 2 grandchildren, Rex (Tami) McMillen and Jodi (Chris) Harper; 3 great grandchildren, Mariah (Aden) Feasel, Meghan McMillen and Cheyann Wilkins. Mary was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 7 sisters. Calling is from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27th at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27th also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Berne. Memorials are to the Grandchildren Education Fund.
