Angelo L. Galmarini

<p>Angelo L. Galmarini, 86, of New Wilmington, PA, passed away the evening of May 19, 2015 at his residence. Born on February 21, 1929 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Angelo and Rosa Moneta Galmarini. In October 1955, he married his wife, the former L. Wanda Gurgacz, and the two spent over 36 wonderful years together until she preceded him in death in January 1992. On March 31, 1996, he married the former Shirley Schuring, and the two spent 13 years together when she preceded him in death on March 10, 2010. </p><p><br></p><p>A 1948 NeCaHi graduate, Angelo retired from his job as yardmaster for CSX Transportation after 47 years of working. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. Angelo enjoyed gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Angelo will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated father and grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. </p><p><br></p><p>Angelo is survived by his children, Sheryl Pieri and husband Robert of Pulaski, PA and Sharon Wallace and husband Robert of Altoona, PA; brother, Anthony Galmarini of West Pittsburg, PA; and grandchildren, Leigha Pieri, Brandon Wallace, Kali Wallace, and Logan Pieri. In addition to his parents and wives, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Victor Galmarini, Sr. and Aldo Galmarini. </p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vitus Church at 10:00am, officiated by Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish. </p><p><br></p><p>Interment will take place in Madonna Cemetery. </p><p><br></p><p>The family asks that memorial contributions take the form of donations made to Celtic Hospice 150 Scharberry Lane Mars, PA 16046.</p>
