Aaron Curtiss Weseman passed away in the company of his loving wife at their home in Parkdale, Ore., on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the age of 42 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born in Hood River, Ore., on Jan. 13, 1973, to Charles and Christine (Allers) Weseman. He grew up in the Hood River Valley and attended Parkdale Elementary School, Wy’east Middle School, and Hood River Valley High School, where he graduated in 1991. A few years later Aaron began dating Stefanie Schneider, winning her over almost immediately with his fun-loving personality and that beaming smile that he was so fondly known for. Aaron and Stefanie were married on Sept. 17, 1993. Aaron and Stefanie raised their two kids, Desiree and Kyle, in the Hood River Valley. One of the many joys he got out of parenting was sharing the same activities with his kids that were such a memorable part of his childhood, including his love of horses, camping, Boy Scouts, baseball, football, wresting, farming, and hunting. Aaron was in Boy Scout Troop 380, led by his dad, and was very proud of his Eagle Scout achievement. Aaron enjoyed the fellowship of his church family at Hood River Alliance Church from whom he received a lot of love and support through his illness. Another major source of support came from his brothers-in-Christ with whom he helped establish the men’s group affectionately known as “The Boat.” As many in the community know, Aaron was loved by all. His personality and sense of humor touched many lives. Even during the difficult times of his illness his care-givers have commented that Aaron always had a smile. Aaron is survived by his wife, Stefanie; daughter, Desiree; son, Kyle; father, Chuck; mother, Chris; sister, Erica, of Eugene; grandmother, Cleo Weseman; parents-in-law Don and Cylena Schneider, parents-in-law Ruford and Jaci Cramer; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in law, nephews, and nieces and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Lois Allers, grandfather Jim Weseman, and niece Clarissa Ortiz. A memorial fund has been set up for Aaron at Key Bank. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m. at Hood River Alliance Church, 2650 Montello Ave., Hood River.
