Millinocket – Lena Pelletier, 84, wife of the late Gerald Pelletier, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Millinocket Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 20, 1930 in New Canada, the daughter of Leo and Melonie (Bouchard) Bossie. Lena married Gerald in 1953 and raised 9 children while Gerald worked and owned a successful logging business in Millinocket. She was the very proud, strong, and sweet soul of the family. She found enjoyment by following the truck pull circuit, cheering on “Pelletier’s Pride” and was named “Spectator of the Year” for her loyalty. She was a star on the television show “American Loggers”, which highlighted her family’s logging business. Above all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lena is survived by her children, Danny and wife Louise, Eldon and wife Judy, Rudy and wife Lisa, Larry and wife Tina, Gary and wife Diane, all of Millinocket, Leroy and significant other Renita of Fort Kent, M. Jean Pelletier Ott and husband Steve of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jeff and fiance Kimberly and her son Cameron, and Wayne and wife Sherrie, all of Millinocket; seventeen grandchildren, Pam, Cassie, Erika, Aaron, Jason, Loni, Dustin, Chelsea, Derek, Melissa, Tyler, Reuban, Vanessa, Kendahl, Chancellor, Renee, and Sophie; sixteen great grandchildren, Emma, Ava, Carter, Samyah, Shaylee, Cassidy, Aaliyah, Jackson, Nathan, Elias, Asher, Savina, Soleil, Niall, Gabriel, and Makayla; one brother, Orenie Bossie of Soldier Pond; four sisters, Edwina Daigle of Caribou, Ella Dumond of Ellsworth, Regina St. Jarre of Kensington, Connecticut, and Bertha Barr of Southington, CT; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Lena was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Pelletier, seven brothers, Paul, Leonard, Romain, Norman, Ronaldo, Camille, and Edgar Bossie, and two sisters, Cecile Bossie Voisine and Juliette Bossie. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 P.M. Monday, May 25, and 9-10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 26 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 26 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with the Rev. Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Lena may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462.
