Mr. Carter Raymond Rasnake, age 62, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Friday (May 15, 2015) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born September 5, 1952 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Elmer Raymond and Madeline Lambert Rasnake. A lifelong resident of southwest Virginia, he was a graduate of Council High School and had received his diploma from Nashville Auto Diesel College. He attended the Church of New Beginnings in Cedar Bluff and had been employed at Richlands Recreation Park for over twenty years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Christine Bandy Rasnake, his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Emily Lambert, and his paternal grandparents, Roy and Grace Rasnake. Survivors include one son, Harley Bandy of Tazewell; one brother, Kenneth Earl Rasnake and wife, Kay of Richlands; one nephew, Jamie Rasnake; one niece, Jeannie Rasnake, and one great-nephew, Caleb Phillips also survives. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginai with Rev. Danny Houchins officiating. Interment will follow in the Lambert Cemetery on Fletchers Ridge, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Nick Presley, Daniel, Bennett, Jr., Bradley Meadows, David Ascue, Jamie Rasnake, and Lee Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Highlands Ambulance Service. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Sunday, where an evening service will be conducted 7:00 PM.
