Nelson Royce VanWinkle, 59, of McKee, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 at his home. He was born on January 14, 1956 to the late Hobert and Edna Cates VanWinkle. He was a 1975 graduate of Madison Central High School, had been employed by Precision Tool and RAPT, and was a member of the Peacemakers of Kentucky Motorcycle Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Keith VanWinkle. Mr. VanWinkle is survived by, his wife, Sharon Lynn VanWinkle; one stepson, Robert Jason Young, of Lexington; two brothers, Johnson Dwayne (Margaret) VanWinkle and James VanWinkle, of McKee; three sisters: Sheila (Jim) Bryant, of McKee, Virginia (Harold) Prewitt, of Williamsburg, and Patricia (Frank) Tipton, of Berea; and two grandchildren, Jaxon Tucker Young and Robert Royce Young. Funeral services for Nelson R. VanWinkle will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Lakes Funeral Home with burial following in the Baker Cemetery on Nellie Baker Road. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be members of the Peacemakers Motorcycle Club.
