Ruth P. Barley, of Winchester, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center. Mrs. Barley was born in Arthur, WV; the daughter of Arthur Ellsworth Parker and Janie Kimble Parker. She worked as a receptionist at Winchester Medical Center for over 25 years. She was a 1942 graduate of Stephens City High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose, Elks Does, and was a founding member of the Jaycee ettes. She married Lewis Miller Barley on December 6, 1941 in Rockford, IL. Mr. Barley preceded her in death on March 13, 2002. She is survived by her son, Dale Miller Barley of Winchester; four grandchildren, Adam Barley, Brad Barley, Elizabeth Barley and Clarke Neff and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Lewis Barley; her daughter, Kim Elizabeth Barley; sisters, Eva Widmyer, Esther Seabright, and Alda Brannon; brothers, Arthur Parker and Gladstone Parker; and one grandchild, Craig Barley. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Philip Brumback officiating.
