Helen Rust

Helen (Ruthven/Fiers) Rust, age 96 of Ludington passed away on May 10, 2015 at Oakview Medical Care Facility. Helen was born on July 3, 1918 in Grand Rapids the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Castle) Ruthven. Helen married Davis Fiers in 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1975. She married Patrick Rust in 1982 and he preceded her in death in 1998. Helen enjoyed her flower gardens, being involved in her church and spending time with her family. Helen is survived by her daughter in law, Arleen Fiers; grandchildren, Joseph (Nannette) Fiers, Barb (Jon) Moffitt and Jeff (Kathy ) Fiers; great grandchildren, Adam Fiers, James Fiers, Amanda (Fiers) Snyder, Emily Fiers and Kayleen Moffitt; great great grandchildren, Christian Snyder and Jason Snyder; brothers, John Ruthven and Willliam Ruthven; sisters, Shirley (Ruthven) Sapkowski, Mary (Ruthven) Barrett; several cousins, nieces and nephews along with many other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by parents, husbands, son Barry Fiers, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday May 18, 2015 at St. James’s Lutheran Church in Montague with Pastor John Brooks officiating. The family will receive guests for visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will take place at Flower CreekCemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Helens memory to her family or St. James’s Lutheran Church.
