Daniel R. Lopez, 67, of Decatur, died on Friday, May 8, 2015 at his residence. He was born on July 21, 1947 in Santa Rosa, TX to the late Antonio and Herminia (Rivera) Lopez. On January 22, 1972 Daniel married Diana Alanis. Daniel was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He retired in 2011 from Fleetwood Motors after 42 years of service. Daniel is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diana Lopez; son David (Veronica) Lopez; two daughters, Christina (Brian) Cartwright and Rebecca (Luke) Egley all of Decatur; sister, Felipa Trevino of Escobedo, N.L., Mexico; grandchildren, Joshua (Marissa) Lopez, Janelle Lopez, Miguel Lopez, Mikyla and Benjamin Cartwright, Caleb, Tayler and Jordynn Blair; great-granddaughter, EveLyn Mae Lopez and due to arrive in June, 2015 is Ella Grace Lopez. Daniel is preceded in death by a son, Daniel and a sister, Marta Rivera. Visitation is 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14th at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father David Voors. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are to ACCF Angel Cancer Fund.
