Mrs. Lucy Mae Cox McGlothlin, age 86, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Thursday (May 7, 2015) at her home. Born February 9, 1929 in Honaker, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ezra and Maude Jane Hubbard Cox and a 1946 graduate of Honaker High School. She had lived most of her life in the area and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She had formerly been employed as an Examiner at Honaker Mills, as a cook at the Honaker Elementary School and was a member of Finney Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Clarence McGlothlin, one brother, James Homer Cox, and her beloved companion pet, Scooter. Survivors include two sons, Michael Lynn McGlothlin and wife, Angie of Honaker and William Timothy McGlothlin and wife, Doris of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Bart McGlothlin and wife, Heather, Will McGlothlin, Sam McGlothlin, and Angie Steel and husband, Gary; three great-grandchildren, Hank Steele, Max Steele, and Bryleigh McGlothlin; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Vonley Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the McGlothlin Cemetery in Honaker, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday.
