It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Eileen Stoodley, 82, of Lunenburg, announces her passing on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Bay de L’Eau Island, NL, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Laura (Strowbridge) Bullen. Over the years, Frances worked in the fish plants of Fisheries Products International and National Sea Products. She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg. Family and friends were a big part of Frances’s life and she enjoyed spending time with them at the cottage in Crooked Lake. She always thought of others first and many will remember Frances and her husband Reuben for taking in a friend that needed a home. Frances is survived by her daughters, Sandra Skinner, Bridgewater, Brenda (Dwight) Tanner, Schnare’s Crossing; son, Morley (Kathy) Stoodley, Spruce Grove, AL; sisters, Marjorie Morgan, Dorothy Shepherd both of NL; Violet Bishop, Bridgewater; brother, Clayton Bullen, NL; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Reuben, daughter, Wanda, son-in-law, Wallace Skinner, sister, Julia, and brothers, Isaac and Leo. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where a service to celebrate Frances’s life will be held, Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 am, Archdeacon Michael Mitchell, officiating. Interment will be at a later date in NL.
