Nancy Ann Dewyer, age 69 of Ludington passed away on Friday, May 1st, 2015 at Tender Care Medical Care Facility in Ludington after a courageous three month battled with lung cancer. She was born on April 17th, 1946 in Ludington Michigan, daughter of the late Frank & Elsie (Clapper) Yeager. She grew up in Ludington and attended Ludington area schools. Nancy married John Dewyer on June 22nd, 1962 and he survives. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she served on several committees. Working in the kitchen and putting on meals was where she shined. Nancy enjoyed country music, bingo, and casino trips with friends but her passion was cooking and trying new recipes. She had a great love for her children and grand children. Nancy drew her strength from God and always encouraged others to make that connection. Nancy had a strong work ethic, loved people and enjoyed work; especially her jobs at K-mart, Bonsers/Shop N Save and Beltone Hearing Center, all of Ludington. Her most recent position was working in the kitchen at Oak Tree Academy of Ludington making breakfast for the “kiddos”. Nancy is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Dewyer of Ludington; son Wayne of Ludington, grand daughter Danielle Dewyer of Marquette, MI, grandson Ethan Dewyer also of Marquette Mi; Daughter Shelly (Kevin) Nash of Ludington, grand daughter Kelly Nash of Ludington, and grandsons Ian & Colin Nash of Ludington; sister, Yvonne Guerra of Tecumseh, MI; brother Neil (Karen) France of Greenville, TN; sister Lois Carr of Ludington, her best friends of over 35 years, Bob and Marilyn (Moe) Nash and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parent and her brother Bobby France. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ludington with Pastor William Huether officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, May 4th, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington. Memorial contributions may be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church or Harbor Hospice.
