Phyllis Schmidt

Phyllis (Gowdy) Schmidt, 90, of the Coventry area, widow of John Henry Schmidt died on April 28, 2015. She was born January 21, 1925 in Manchester, CT, daughter of Ernest and Marion (Griswold) Gowdy. Phyllis was a member of the Second Congregational Church of Coventry since 1937. She was a graduate of Manchester High School of 1942. She was employed by Cheney Brothers, Inc. of Manchester,CT and Mullins, SC retiring as Assistant Treasurer in 1987.Phyllis was predeceased by her husband John and her brother Donald. She is survived by a son; Alan and his wife Tamara and a daughter; Linda Schmidt Dickerman and her husband Ronald; two granddaughters, Tara Gouin and Caitlin Schmidt and a Great Grandaughter Kaelynn Gouin. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at Center Cemetery in Coventry. A Memorial Service will take place Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Second Congregational Church, Coventry.
