L. Nadeau Millinocket, Maine Obituary

L. Nadeau

Millinocket – On Saturday, April 25, 2015, L. David Nadeau, 55, passed away unexpectedly. He was born December 13, 1959, the son of Lionel and Bernice Nadeau. He was a lifelong resident of Millinocket. David was a graduate of Stearns High School, and worked for the Great Northern Paper Company. In later years, he and his wife Donna owned and operated The Downtown Restaurant where they worked tirelessly for many years. David had many interests and hobbies which he pursued in his free time. He had an aptitude for all things mechanical and spent many happy hours working in his garage along with his son, Travis. David could often be found at the Millinocket Regional Airport, flying his model airplanes. He enjoyed camping, snow sledding, and four wheeling, while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Katahdin Region. He was a wonderful and generous man who loved his family above all else. We will hold him forever in our hearts. With his passing, a bright light in our midst has been extinguished. David is survived by the loves of his life, his wife Donna and his two children, Travis Nadeau of Millinocket and Jessica Nadeau of Brewer. Also surviving David are his sisters Linda Chenausky of Avon, Connecticut, and Denise Bragdon and her husband David of Millinocket; brothers in law Tommy Leet and his wife Ruth, Ted Leet and his wife Janine, Tracy Leet and sisters in law Sally Wilson and Julie Leet; a special nephew and godson, Derek Bragdon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Nancy Butler, and a brother in law, Peter Chenausky. Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-8 P.M. Wednesday, April 29 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M. Thursday, April 30 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with the Rev. Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Gifts in memory of David may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462.
