John Salvatore D’Amico John Salvatore D'Amico, 87, of Geneva, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. Family and friends may call Thursday, April 30 from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High Street in Geneva. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs, NY or Bivona Child Advocacy Center, 275 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY. John was born on December 24, 1927 in Geneva, the third son of the late Joseph and Everina D'Amico. He was a graduate of DeSales High School and Freeman Business School. He served for a short time in the U.S. Navy during World War II. John started his long career as an accountant at the American Can Co., followed by Geneva General Hospital where he served as controller. Along with his brother, Peter, he founded D'Amico Chrysler Plymouth in 1963. When he retired from the dealership in 1979, he developed and sold real estate for a number of years. John was also active in politics, including serving on the Geneva School Board where he chaired the building campaign for the school campus on Carter Street. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Kiwanis Club, the Sons of Italy and the American Legion. John will be remembered for his great love of his family, life and travel, especially to Italy. He was incredibly proud of his Italian heritage. He was a devoted husband, an incredible father, an outspoken man and loyal friend. John is survived by his daughters: Catherine D'Amico (Scott Byers) of Fairport; Marie (Thomas) Ramsay of Rochester; and Allie D'Amico of Fairport; his brothers Charles and Peter D'Amico; his sisters-in-law Patricia and Mary D'Amico, and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife, Madeline; his siblings Francis and Joseph D'Amico and Mary Sroka; and sisters-in-law Joan and Mary D'Amico.
