Obituary
Mr. Thomas Campbell Stephens, age 80, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015, in a Grundy, Virginia nursing facility. Born September 5, 1934 in Virginia, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed truck driver and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Martha Ellen O’Quinn Stevens, his father, Leonard Stevens, two brothers, Charles Stevens and infant, Major Stevens, two sisters, Flora and Hattie Mae, special uncles, Burk, Ralph, and Junior Stevens, and one granddaughter, Madison Faith Rife. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Rife and husband, Jeff, and Martha Blevins and husband, Johnny; three brothers, Rufus Stevens, James Stevens, and Jerry Stevens; two sisters, Margaret Bailey and Edna Kiel; two grandchildren, Maggie Rife and Lily Ann White; special nephew, Dema Stevens; special cousin, Berkley Stevens and wife, Pearline; special friends, Ronnie McGlothlin, Anthony McGlothlin, Delmer Blevins, Robbie Stevens, and Ronnie Stevens; special pets, Angel and Mr. Tibbs; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the RCMC Home Health and Hospice and Heritage Hall Staff of Grundy, Virginia. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Ryland Presley, Rev. Roy Lee Wilson, and Pastor Roger Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Stevens Cemetery on Sandy Ridge, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Stevens, Ronnie McGlothlin, Anthony McGlothlin, Johnny Blevins, Donald Keapon, and Michael Rasnake.
