CHARTRAND, Gordon Roger - Died suddenly with his family by his side on Friday, April 24th, 2015 in his 75th year. Loving husband of Rita (nee Samson) of Allumette Island. Loving father of Gordon Jr., Glen (Kerri) and Debbie (Neil Mantifel). Caring grandfather to Daniel, Stefan and Brandon. Dear brother to Gene Chartrand, Louise Turcotte (Allan) and Leslie Chartrand (Marion). Dear brother-in-law of Betty Code (Jim), Roger Samson (Teresa), Marcel Samson (Janice), Richard Samson (Sherry), Paul Samson (Diane), Suzanne Devine, Mike Samson (Kelly) and Gerald Samson (Sue). Son-in-law to Paul Samson and the late Lillian Samson. Predeceased by his parents Josephine and Louis Chartrand, by infant granddaughter Kaylee and brother Donald. Gordie will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends around the campfires and the sugar shack during maple syrup season. Respecting Gordie's wishes there will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life with family and friends will take place at a later date.
