Armeldia Elizabeth Jane Marshall, age 71, of Mount Rainier, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2015 at her home. Born February 1, 1944 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer and Clara Howard. She had lived in Maryland for over fifty years, but always held a fondness for her hometown of Honaker, Virginia. Armeldia had a strong work ethic and had been employed by Giant Foods until her recent retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernie “Bud” Marshall; cousin, Howard Honaker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James Rolf and Mazie Wells Marshall; sisters-in-law, Peggy Combs, Judy Marshall and brothers-in-law, Leo Taylor and Sonny Marshall. Survivors include her children, Robert “LB” Marshall and wife, Beth of Hancock, Maryland, Anita Johnson and Sammy of Mt. Rainier, Maryland and Buddy Marshall and wife, Chrysta of Honaker, Virginia; sister, Peggy Taylor of Honaker, Virginia; brothers, Joe Howard and wife, Louise of Mt. Airy, Maryland and Bryant Howard and wife, Jeannie of Boonesboro, Maryland; sisters-in-law, Betty Boozer and husband, Booz of Gray, Tennessee and Connie Kiser and husband, Wayne of Honaker, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Jim Combs of Kingsport, Tennessee and Billy Marshall; grandchildren, Brian, Andy, Lindsay, Kaitlin, Christopher, Todd Jr., Peyton and T-Bone; great-grandchildren, Robert, Donald, and Jadien; special friends, Marilyn Mowatt and Moses of Mt. Rainier, Maryland and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Arnold King officiating. Interment will follow in the Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
