David C. Houseman, age 81 of East Lake died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at his home. He was born on February 5, 1934 in Vestaburg, Michigan the son of the late John & Agnes (Huntley) Houseman. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Patricia Rouser on January 3, 1954 in DeWitt, Michigan. David was employed as an over the road truck driver, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of VFW Walsh Post #4499, the Manistee Moose Lodge, and was former treasurer of the ARC of Manistee County. Survivors include his wife; Patricia Houseman of East Lake, three children; Debra (Robert) Brewer of East Lake, Karen Brandt of Manistee, and John (Donna) Houseman of Hamilton as well as a special grandchild; Amber Houseman of Manistee. Other surviving grandchildren include; Rhet (Jessica) Brewer, Bret (Rachel Schester) Brewer, David Houseman, Amy (Mike) Sowler, Amanda (Dennis) Roberts, and Cody (Cheyenne) Brandt. Great grandchildren are Trent, Tia, Lilly, Bryce, Vivian, Dainyn, Jaidyn, Soraya, Destiny, and Darius. Siblings surviving are Russell Houseman, John (Mary) Houseman, & Beverly Swegman all of Germfask, MI and Patricia Johnson of Perry, MI. No services are planned.
