Wayne Osborn Obituary

East Millinocket – Wayne Franklin Osborn, 75, passed away April 16, 2015 at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 19, 1939 the son of Pearl and Hester “Beatrice” (Sexton) Osborn. He joined the Navy in September 1956 and served on the USS NorthHampton. After his honorable discharge in 1960 he came to Maine with his navy buddy and best friend Ronald Twist where he made his home and quickly attained the nickname “Muleskinner”. He retired from Great Northern Paper where he worked in the paper and finishing rooms. He enjoyed old cars, listening to music, campfires at his camp on Mattaseunk Lake, and as of late riding to Rick’s Market on his lawn tractor for his daily “pepsi and muffin” and a visit with the girls. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Carl Halley and Pearl Osborn. He is survived by his daughters Karen and her husband Philip Olivieri of Rangeley, Kathy King and her companion Francis Pelkey of East Millinocket, and Julie Waite of Medway; grandchildren Lindsey and husband Keith Savage, Jessica and husband Allen Birmingham, Jodi and husband Robert Jandreau, Danielle O’Neill, Aaron Waite, Freddie King, Traci Waite and Samantha Olivieri; great grandchildren Alyssa, Kennedy, Kendall, Cole, Chase and Jaxon and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his sister Lila “Sue” Osborn, his brother James Osborn and a special niece Carolyn Petree all of Kirksville Missouri. Visiting hours will be Wednesday April 22, 2015 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. with a service immediately following at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket. A private burial will be held at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at Saint Joseph Hospital for the compassion and excellent care that Wayne received.
