Lisa Garcia Manistee, Michigan Obituary

Lisa Garcia

Lisa Ann Garcia, age 54 of Ludington passed away on Monday April 13, 2015 at Spectrum Health- Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Lisa was born on January 18, 1961 in Grand Rapids, daughter of Henry Andrew Garcia & Helen Louise Slaughter. Lisa dedicated her life to her children, and was loved by many people in the community. Her favorite holiday was the 4th of July. Her favorite color was purple. Her favorite band was Lynard Skynard. Her favorite thing to do was kayak and to stay at home lighting her candles. She was the greatest supporter of our military vets and the American Legion as an Auxiliary member. The places she held close to her heart was Chicago and Ludington. Lisa grew up in the Chicago area and the place where she began motherhood. Lisa made many friends and was loved by everyone she met. She was a big sports fan and loved the Chicago Bulls, the Bears and the Cubbies. By the time her oldest entered high school the family moved to Ludington. Lisa was proud to live in Ludington and be a part of such a beautiful place. Lisa was a reliable, hard-working and enthusiastic worker. Lisa worked at Floracraft of Ludington. The Floracraft community was a significant part of Lisa’s life and she wanted them all to know how much they meant to her. She was a loving friend and co-worker, but her greatest attribute was being the best mother. Lisa was the most passionate and courageous mother. Nothing meant more to her than her children. She was blessed with more love than was required for her children so instead of bottling that love she shared it with everyone around her. Lisa is survived by the life-long friend and father of her children, Don Lange Jr. of Ludington; mother Helen Louise Buzzard of Wadsworth, OH; three sons, Andy Lange of Grand Rapids, Brian Lange of Ludington and Scotty Lange of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Kristyn (Mark Malkowski) Lange of Fountain; granddaughter, Lilly Lange of Ludington; brother, Mike (Cindy) Garcia of Sandwich, IL; and nephew, Mike Garcia Jr. Lisa is preceded in death by her father Henry Andrew Garcia. Cremation is taking place and a memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday April 18, 2015 at Oak Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Hilyard officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 3:00 P.M. until time of service. Following the memorial service the family invites you to the American Legion for a pig roast and dinner celebration. The family also wishes people to wear purple attire if possible. Memorial contributions in memory of Lisa may be directed to the Lisa Garcia family. Please feel free to share a memory or photo with Lisa’s family at www.oakgrovefh.com. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
