Victor A. Rice passed away Thursday, April 9th at home after a long battle with cancer. Vic was born August 26, 1945 in Winchester, VA to the late Ray and Nina V. Rice. He joined the Navy in August 1963 and was assigned to the USS Lexington in Pensacola, FL. Upon his end of active duty in 1966 he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Vic is survived by his sister, April Baker and three brothers, Roland Rice of Mt. View, CA, Raymond Rice of Winchester and Greg Rice of Front Royal. He is also survived by his nieces, Joyce Ann Goodman, Lynn Goss, Kim McInturff, Michelle Dunn and Donna Dunn. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Rice and Joyce M. Speelman. Pallbearers will be Doug Baker, Brian Goodman, Bob Speelman, Vic’s great nieces, Jade and Shai Moore and R J Britton his great nephew. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A Funeral Service will be Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral with Minister Amy Hayes officiating. The burial will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
