Edith Kairit

Edith A. Kairit, 93, of Como, MS passed away April 7, 2015 at Senatobia Convalescent Center. Mrs. Kairit was born on November 13, 1921 in Obion County, TN to The Late Pearl Fentress and The Late Hume Field Anderson. She was a member of Como United Methodist Church for nearly fifty years, was a retired bookkeeper and loved to play cards and cook. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Kairit is survived by her daughter, Christine Griffin (Sammie); and her son, Ken Kairit, both of Como, MS; three grandchildren, Dr. Brant Kairit (Elizabeth) of Senatobia, MS, Amber Helps (Simon) of Olive Branch, MS and Emily Griffin of Como, MS.; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ralph Kairit and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 2pm in Como United Methodist Church with Rev. Phillip Dearman officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Como. Visitation will be held in the church on Thursday from 1-2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Como United Methodist Church Mission Fund, P.O. Box 277, Como, MS 38619 or to Friendship Cemetery Fund, c/o Charles Jackson, 11003 Covington Way, Oxford, MS 38655. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home - Senatobia Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
