Eugene Fullenkamp

Eugene J. Fullenkamp, 81, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne. He was born on April 6, 1933 in Jay County, IN to the late William and Matilda (Braun) Fullenkamp. On June 28, 1958 he married Marilyn Link. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He served as Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. J.J. Seimetz Council 864; he was also a member of its 4th Degree Assembly 257, where he was Past Faithful Navigator. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 43. Eugene owned and operated Fullenkamp Drywall, he was a Drywall Finisher for over 40 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Marilyn Fullenkamp of Decatur; 4 sons Pat (Diane) Fullenkamp, Larry (Connie) Fullenkamp both of Decatur, Tom (Angie) Fullenkamp of Indianapolis, and Tony (Cheryl) Fullenkamp of Decatur; 5 daughters Karen Fullenkamp, Mary (Randy) Clifton both of Decatur, Nancy (Greg) Saunders, Susan (Clarence) Boyd both of Ft Wayne, and Amy (Alan) Valade of Rensselaer; a sister Lucille (Lester) Moorman of Springfield, OH; a sister-in-law Irene Fullenkamp of Portland; 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter, 4 step great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Marie Fullenkamp, 3 brothers Wilbur, Ernie, Martin Fullenkamp, 3 sisters Sally Hartnagle, Madonna Bricker, and Julie Kreig. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m. K of C 4th Degree Honor Guard will post from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A 12:20 p.m. Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father David Voors and burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gibault Home for Boys or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
