Clyde "Bobby" Barrett

Mr. Clyde Robert “Bobby” Barrett, age 70, of the Cedar Cliff Road section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Thursday (April 2, 2015) in a Richlands, Virginia, hospital. Born May 28, 1944 in Russell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Pearl Sauls Barrett. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a disabled coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed spending time and working on the family farm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Benjamin Franklin Barrett, Jr., Kenneth Barrett, and Baker Barrett, and three sisters, Stella Mae Beavers, Mary Lou Bouchet, and Mildred Duff. Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Doris Ann Barrett of the home; one son, Anthony “Tony” Barrett and wife, Melissa of Honaker; two daughters, Vickie Lynn Hess and husband, Darrell and Tamatha “Tammy” Carol Hess and husband, Shannon all of Honaker; two brothers, Raymond Barrett and wife, Mamie of Abingdon and Donald Barrett of Honaker; one sister, Frances Justice of Rosedale; nine grandchildren, Sarah Beth Stiltner, Benjamin Curtis Barrett, Abigail Hess, Jason Hess, Misty Hale, Andrew Osborne, Jaden Hess, Todd Hess, and Skyler Hess; seven great-grandchildren, Evan Stiltner, Kamdyn Hess, Ashlyn Hess, Baileigh Hale, Carlie Hale, Celena Hess, and Lulu Hess; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Barrett Family Cemetery on Cedar Cliff Road, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Kenny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Stiltner, Dean Curry, Roy Smith, Darrell Beavers, Charlie Beavers, and Dennis Harris.
