Opal Jean Walters, 77, of Mt. Vernon passed away Wednesday April 1, 2015 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital. Opal was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Elmer Walters, one daughter Elizabeth Walters, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children Eula Mae (George) Miller, Lester (B.J. Pittman) Walters, Charles Walters, Janet (David) McClenney, Dennis Walters, Kathleen (Herb Holcomb) Alexander, Geraldine (Hobert) Spires, Wilma (Anthony) Baker and Dwayne Walters. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1pm Monday April 6, 2015 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Himes and Bro. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Morning View Cemetery in Livingston. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6- 9 pm at the funeral home. www.lakesfuneralhome.com
