Daniel D. Carpenter, 68 of Grants Pass passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at his residence with his family adoringly by his side.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Dan was born on March 4, 1947 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Robert and Mary Rose Carpenter. At an early age his family moved from their farm to Shaw, Oregon where he grew up, later moving to Grants Pass from Salem as an adult. He spent some time in college but his studies were mainly self-directed as he delved into his secondary education; he took joy in teaching himself new things. Dan worked most of his life as an entrepreneur owning his own construction business and believed in performing at 110% at all times. His professional and personable demeanor earned him the respect of many professionals throughout the community. In his free time, he enjoyed many activities including gold mining, fishing, shooting photography (which earned him a lifetime membership to the International Freelance Photographers Organization as well as a few other awards), attending church services, reading all types of literature, gardening, golfing and most of all, he treasured spending time with his family. His personal spiritual beliefs led him to become a Christian Sabbath Keeper in which he took pleasure in all areas of Bible studies.
