John Morris

John Stanley Morris, Jr., 66, of Winchester, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Morris was born May 20, 1948 in Winchester, the son of the late John Stanley Morris Sr. and Alma Lee Funk Morris. John married Cheryl Grimm December 27, 1966 in Winchester, VA. He was a graduate of James Wood High School. John worked for O’Sullivan as a Production Manager for 25 years, and more recently for Republic Services as a Sales Account Manager. John enjoyed playing golf, reading mysteries, and watching sports; he especially enjoyed raising his family of chickens on the farm. He loved his family, including his two cats, and his dog. He is survived along with his wife by one son, Paul Douglas Morris and his wife Ginny, of Winchester; three granddaughters; one grandson; four great grandchildren and one brother, Kenneth Morris of Capon Bridge, WV. He is preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Morris. The family will receive friends Monday, March 30, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, VA. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Kernstown United Methodist Church in Winchester with Pastor Aaron Fitch and Pastor Alan Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery with a reception to follow at Kernstown United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Paul Morris, Doug Chapman, Jerry Wilson, Harry Brill, Gerald Baldwin, Roland Dixon, Mark Wilkins and Jimmy White. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Angel Trust Fund, c/o Shenandoah Oncology, 1870 Amherst St. Suite F, Winchester, VA 22601 or Kernstown United Methodist Church, 3239 Valley Pike, Winchester, VA 22602.
