Mr. Ronald Lee Jones, age 63, of Council, Virginia, passed away Monday (March 23, 2015) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born December 3, 1951 in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Foster Lee and Doris Akers Jones. A Vietnam veteran, he was a member of the DAV and Rosedale Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Jones. Survivors include his wife of twenty-three years, Mary Jones of the home; three sons, Joshua Lee Jones and wife, Kristen, Dustin Lee Jones and wife, Kimberly all of Maryland, and Casey Lee Jones and wife, Arianne of Florida; two daughters, Cheryl Jones of New Jersey and Melissa Jones of Maryland; three step-children, Jerry Lee Cropper and wife, Roseanna of Haysi, and Ricky Allen Cook, Jr. of Saltville; one step-daughter, Amanda Sue Cropper Keen of Honaker; one sister, Tammy Melloy of Maryland; mother-in-law, Alice Hess of Honaker; father-in-law, Arkie Yates of Honaker; nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Troy Harris officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Paul Lester, Randall Salinas, Jerry Lee Cropper, and Arlin Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, and Brent Compton. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Thursday.
