Orville Jameson

Orville “Bud” was born in Camden, Maine to Orville and Thereasa Jameson. The oldest of five children, and he attended local school. He left school at a young age to join the Merchant Marines and then he joined the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served his country proudly and his pride for our country was with him till the end. When “Bud” came home from the service, he got a great job driving a tractor trailer truck which he did until he retired making many friends along the way. His first marriage to Edith was a great one until her untimely death at a young age. They had one child. He then married Tina and they were together for 45 years. They bought a home and settled in Warren. It was a great place to raise seven children, plus a few others along the way. Weekends were family time. Uncles, Aunts and their families were always coming to visit “The Farm” and share in good times; whether it was butchering an animal to feed the family, haying, holidays or special occasions. Bud loved these times bringing liveliness and pride to his beloved farm. He also enjoyed going for road trips, fishing, raising beef cattle, bowling, and dancing. His grandchildren brought another sense of pride to the Family Farm. Each one unique in their own way. He took great pride in teaching some to hand milk a cow and how to fix equipment, or tapping trees for maple syrup. He enjoyed taking them on the tractor or down to the pond to go ice fishing. So many great memories have been talked about in the past years of his life, which includes sledding, hunting, haying, and cookouts. Whether grand children lived near or far he took great pride in hearing about what they were doing and watching them grow whether they were in family by being born into the family or by marriage. He watched them all with aide of modern technology, the computer. He followed their lives like a silent guardian. Bud is a direct man. Sometimes being very blunt and a force with which to reckon with, and was a good provider, friend, dad, and grandpa. His life was full. In later years after Tina passed, he patrolled the neighborhood on his “Gator” with his dog Trouble. He visited his surrounding family daily. More recently he enjoyed Tuesday night dinner with his son, Peter, and his wife Sandy, and then a friendly family card game. In the morning, he had coffee with his brother Sonny and his dog Buffy. Daily, he was training in his son Kevin, and his wife, Melissa of taking over the family farm, and his daily care with few arguments with daughter Peggy. He loved the surprise visits and treats brought in by the grandkids and great grandkids. Bud was a great man with a big heart. He taught many things to us and the lessons we learned from him were instilled in us, making us who we are today. “Bud” is survived by: His brother Sonny Jameson of Warren Sons: Steve Jameson and his wife Becki of Rockland; Rick Poland and his wife Donna of Warren; Pete Poland and his wife Sandy of Warren; Fred Marshall and his wife Bonnie of Searsport; Kevin Jameson and his wife Melissa of Warren. Daughters: Julie Whaley and her friend Kerry of Oscala, FL; and Peggy Kenney of Warren We will gather on Sunday March 29th, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Jameson Family Cemetery to pay our respects in sending him on to guide us from above, and is still the man we look up to. A gathering at the family home will follow. Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements.
